Tim Thompson

Flow Team Rider

  • Age: 30
  • Hometown: Salt Lake City, UT
  • Riding Spot: Roots in Racing. Heart in Trails.

I started racing in 1992 and it was all over after that. My first bike was a 1991 RL400EXL. It was yellow and my good friend Justin had a blue one. I raced seriously for around 6 years. Around my second year racing I met Fuzzy and as like everyone else, I just kind of wanted to follow in his footsteps. During those 6 years we had a lot of changes happen to the racing scene here in Utah. Consequently we started building trails to accommodate our passion to keep riding and having fun at the same time.
We built and rode 39th street trails for 5 years before they got tore down because the city considered the area a 'bird sanctuary.' (which is funny because they used bull-dozers to plow everything) Around 1997 we got our first indoor skate park and a lot of us starting riding ramps. We mainly used the indoor park to keep us entertained in the winter months, from that point my riding just naturally started transforming into freestyle. I've been all over the U.S., competed in a lot of contests over the years and traveled to Canada 5 different times. Never been overseas.
My riding, hopefully like everyone else's, is just a way of life. I can't see my life any other way, or with out it. I'm a machinist by trade and have my own small jewelry business; True Gage, you can find it on Myspace... does anyone use that anymore? Haha. Ride on.
