2010 BritsBy Alan Hill on October 03, 2010The British Championships were held at Cheddar for the second year running on the downhill track in Somerset, south west England. Practice and cruiser racing was on saturday with 20" classes on sunday, this new format seemed to be liked as over 850 riders took part in the end of season event with good weather all weekend. Saturday started off badly for me as a crash in practice resulted in sore ribs and a fat finger, after a few painkillers and some freeze spray I was really to go. Racing went well and I didnt lose a lap all day to take my 4th consecutive Brits cruiser title! A big presentation evening followed with the national series awards then the cruiser racing titles. Feeling sore for sunday warmup but felt ok racing and made the main with a win in the semi. Holeshotted the main to take the Masters title and complete a clean sweep of titles in both my classes in the national series and Brits! stoked for sure! Must thank TM Jai for all his help and support throughout the year and my RL team-mates who make it fun in the team tent. Taking a few weeks off to let my ribs recover then back into training to make 2011 even better! |
