NationalsBy Redline South Africa on April 15, 2010Hi all The weekend of 3-4 April our first nationals were held in Kwa-Zulu Natal at Giba Gorge bmx park. The track was well maintained and prepared for the weekends racing. We had the best entries to date with 277 riders participating. By Sunday the numbers were slightly lower due to injuries and some hard racing taking place for the best spots available. Saturday started with a heatwave hitting us as early as 9am. All three riders were entered and ready to go. Miguel's finger took a bit of strain and he had to withdraw during the 2nd leg of the day. Bianca was holding up with her brace on but raced pretty well considering she hadn't ridden in 6 weeks. Jarred had the best weekend with good results and making it through to the final in each leg. Overall a good National was held and Bianca and Jarred both maintained a nominal 4th position overall for the weekends racing. Jarred was unlucky in the last final but I suppose thats part of the excitement of racing and the way bmx goes. Anyway, keep checking up on us as our next National is in Gauteng in June just a month prior to Worlds being held over here and I am sure all three riders will be riding and practising hard.
Cheers for now and see you soon.
