Team Redline Australia - 2012 Queensland TitlesBy Redline Australia on October 09, 2012
With 900+ riders spread across 20” and Cruiser’s, this was the largest Queensland Titles ever held. One of the best tracks in the state, we were expecting a great weekend of exciting racing. Racing for Team Redline Australia were Katie Van Zanden, 13 girls, Lachlan Harvey, 15 boys, Liam Hilliam, 16 boys, Tristyn Kronk, 16 boys, Sarah Harvey, Elite Women and new signing and welcome to our team, Connor Pratt, 14 Boys. Katie rode well in both classes with a rock solid performance showing all her skills. She cruised through her heats to make the final to finish second in both classes showing all her training and hard work over the past months with a new coach has paid off. Connor dominated all of his heats and semi’s, but didn’t have it all his way in his 20” final where he had to come through the pack to take the win. Cruiser was a similar story only lead from start to finish in the final. Lachlan’s 20” race was one of the most exciting of the weekend. With a good start, but pushed to the outside on the first corner, he had to fight to get back, but successfully achieved this to take out the win. Cruiser was a bit harder as he was the youngest of the age group, but made the final with a solid 6th being the highest finishing 15 year old in the class. Liam still injured, rode well in his moto’s to make the semi, where he narrowly missed the final by inches, placing 6th. Tristyn rode very well winning all of his moto’s and the semi. This race was going to prove to be very exciting and one we were all waiting for. He had a good lane pick to come out of gate one and was leading into the first corner, but unfortunately, slid out on the first berm to finish in 5th. Not the result that Tristyn was wanting, but unfortunately that’s BMX racing. Sarah racing up to Elite Women rode well in the heats being one of the only Pro Ladies to jump the whole second straight, the other being our 2012 Olympic reserve Melinda McLeod. She progressed to a dead man final to get 4th pick of the gate. With not the best start, she went in to the first corner lining up to do the second straight. Unfortunately, she got caught up in a crash which left her unable to finish the lap. Team Redline Australia also won the Corporate Team Trophy making it the last 5 times that Redline has won this perpetual trophy. We would also like to welcome Connor to our Team & believe his addition will complement or already list of champions. BAZ Team Manager
