Tristyn Kronk - 2012 QLD TitlesBy Redline Australia on October 09, 20122012 QLD Titles The Cairns track was in immaculate condition for practise and racing. It had been changed since the nationals were last there and was now slightly more technical, but a very fast and exciting to ride. The weather was good the whole way through the week with exception to race day on Friday where it rained but the track still held up well. Saturday was the first day of competition for me which was when I competed in the 16 boy’s class. The weather was great and so was the track despite the rain the previous day. I won all of my heats and progressed through to my semi which I also won. I came out of lane 1 in the final slightly missing the gate but I still managed to catch up to Kyle Borrensen down the first straight to be slightly in front into the first corner. My front wheel slid out about half way around the corner resulting in most of the race coming down except two riders who then proceeded to get 1st and 2nd. In the end I ended up getting 5th. Sunday was cruiser day and the last time I would compete in cruiser. Once again the weather was great and I won 2 of my three heats and came 2nd in my third heat. I also won my semi which left me with lane 2 for the final. I whole shotted in the final and lead the whole race until I made a mistake down the last straight which allowed Peter Little to pass me on the last jump leaving me with 2nd. I enjoyed the week of riding in Cairns and also doing activities within the city with almost perfect weather the whole time. I would like to thank Redline, the sponsors of the Queensland Championships and also all volunteers that made it all possible.
