Redline Riders grab Silver and Bronze in Olympic BMX Racing

By the BMX Race team on August 10, 2012

The 2012 London Olympics saw riders from eight different countries compete on Redline Bicycles. Over the course of the event there were definitely some ups and downs, but in the end Redline riders earned some great results.

In the mens event, Redline bicycles were used by three of the top five riders with our man World Champion Sam Willoughby earning a silver medal. 2008 Beijing Olympics winner Maris Strombergs from Latvia repeated his Gold Medal performance here in London.

In the womens event, it was a surprise result from our Dutch rider Laura Smulders who earned the bronze. USA rider Alise Post didn’t make it into the final after crashing twice in the Semi-final round and World Champion Redline rider Magalie Pottier finished seventh in the final. Mariana Pajon of Colombia was the womens winner.

Congratulations to all of our Global Redline Team riders that made the Olympics such an exciting event to watch!
