Race summary
Penrith had changed the track and I was excited to go on it.
It was a chilly morning and everyone had jumpers and jackets on. I was there trying to warm up by doing warm up exercises and going on the bike rollers. But at last my practice started.

I had lane six on my first race and I had an alright start. Luke Hansford and I came out in front. I manualed the first jump and got a bit launched off the next. But I still kept my place. I went a bit low on the first corner and I couldn’t pedal because I thought I was going to slide out. Luke got in front of me. The second straight is technical with sharp rollers and jumps. I went through pumping hard and trying to get the speed. Down the third straight, I was still in second I was going to make up some of the gap between first and me. I manualed and jumped and that went pretty well. Then I turned the last corner and I knew I couldn’t come first. I came second.

On my second moto I had lane one. I had a good start and I squeezed to the middle of the track. I thought I was in front but Jiye Ellis came in front of me. I pedalled hard to catch him down second straight. Also manualed and jumped down third straight but I still couldn’t catch him. I came second.

My third race it was raining. I was a bit worried but as soon as I got going, I didn’t feel it. I had a good start and I came out in front with Jiye and Kyle Jaehne. They both got in front of me but I stayed closer to them. Suddenly I heard someone come up next to me down second straight. I wasn’t going to lose another position. I pumped harder to get in front of him a bit more. I was in the inside so I was able to get in third position. But I wasn’t comfortable yet. I could hear the same wheels spinning beside me. I kept going faster than I ever went today. I even caught up with the two boys in front! I kept my place and came third.

My final was interesting. I had fifth pick but I still got lane one. Lane one is the lane I always pick if was available. So I had a good start and I try to come across but I Jiye pushed me. When we all got to the first jump, I was right of the inside line. I didn’t back off though. I survived the first jump then came the second jump. Got through
that as well but on the first corner, I went too high and Ben Norman cam up the inside. We were side by side and I was getting pushed in to the cones. Then CRASH! we both went down and I finished 7th.

I was a bit disappointed today with my result but I had fun racing the boys again and I looking forward to Terrigal in two weeks time.
