Redlines Kari Studley wins inaugural Single speed ‘cross race at Sea Otter

By the Cyclocross team on April 25, 2012

Crossin’ in 80’ weather with beautiful blue skies—how different! Kari got off to a great start flying down the legendary Sea Otter straightaway but got caught behind a first corner 180’ turn crash. Kari kept her cool, got around the mayhem and then set out to take control of the race. This was the first year of ‘Cross at Sea Otter and it was fun to have the men’s and women’s single speed riders together on the course at the same time. Kari raced her Conquest single speed around the twisty dusty Sea Otter course with finesse and got the win. Not done yet….Kari quickly cooled down with ice and water and got astride her Conquest Carbon team multispeed bike and rode the women’s elite race to 5th place against the top Luna racers.
