European Championships Orleans France

By Dutch Dreamteam on May 08, 2012

Race Report

European Championships Orleans France

On 4-5-6 of May the Redline BMX Dreamteam raced the European Championships in Orleans France.

It was an indoor event when we arrived in France on the Wednesday the track “looked” fine but when the trainings sessions started it turned out the turns were so slippery that a lot of riders crashed. Sometimes even all 8 riders.

Also on the Friday “Championships” of the cruisers” almost in every race 2,3,4 riders went down!! The organisation did nothing about it, which is a big shame. Also on the Saturday when all the challenge classes had to race on the “ice” turns , there were a lot of crashes.

It took until the Junior/Elite started to race before the organisation had to take action and put “carpet” in all turns and the Race was delayed for 3 hours, this had also cost the Dutch Dreamteam 2 podium places (Jeffrey Bignell (Cruissers 40-44)and Erik Peters(Boys 10).and some possible “Mainfinals” and also Boys
11 Wessel van Dijk Crashed Already in the First Moto and broke his Thumb ,and had surgery right after his Race ! The Dutch Dreamteam was present with 9 Riders and  had 3 Mainfinals when it could have been 6 It was more a lottery then A BMX Race
