Rounds 5 and 6 and we’re back outside, racing at Birmingham Perry Park. We arrived on Friday to set up the team camp and practice on the freshly groomed track and dodging the rain every 5 minutes.

 

This weekend was the start of the double headers so plenty of race action was going on on both days.

 

 

Weather wasn’t great but the racing was which ment good results. Alan Hill took the honours and battled his way to a win in the cruiser final. Championship Women riders Valerie Zebrokova and Ayesha McLelland both fought for places in the final and Valerie fought her way to 2^nd place with Ayesha in 5^th. Elite Men rider Cal Strickland was on form and powered his way to 2^nd place his best result so far this year.

 

 

Sunday was another day and a different set of results with Alan Hill battling all day with Ian Sharp but in the end Alan had to settle for 2^nd in the final. Wind was the problem for the Elite men which ment they had to race the challenge section instead of the pro section, Cal Strickland made it though to the final and with some tight racing came in 4^th place. Valerie and Ayesha in Championship women race hard in the final but both crashed in the last corner.

 

Well that was Birmingham, next were at Braintree
