Jarrad Drizners SA Title, RD6 & RD7 SA State SeriesBy Redline Australia on March 31, 2012
2012 SA Sate Titles Race Report Rider – Jarrad Drizners Track – Cross Keys Age – 12 This year’s State Titles were going to be tough, with riders coming from WA, Vic and NSW all wanting to do well. 19 riders in total, racing was going to be very good. In my motos I got 2 seconds, a first and a fifth. I was happy with my results and I had qualified 6th for the semi finals. I had pick 3 in the semi and chose gate 5. I ended up with a second and I was in the final. It was tough getting back to back State Championships, and it was going to be even tough making it into a 3peat. With pick 6 I chose gate 6. Getting a great snap out of the gate wasn’t enough to get across to the preferred race line. Banging bars down the first straight, I dropped to the back of the field. Getting in front of a couple of riders before the finish line saw me end up in 6th spot. I was very happy with my racing for the day. Round 6 S.A State Series Happy Valley BMX Club Date: 21/1/12 Location: Happy Valley BMX Club Today is the sixth round of the S.A. State Series at my home club Happy Valley, it’s my first big event since I had six weeks of my bike. I was really excited to start racing, the weather was good and the track had been prepared really well. It was going to be a great days racing. In my motos I got two seconds and a first which gave me second pick for the final. I chose gate 2 in the final, I got a good snap and it was really tight heading down the first straight. Bars were banging and down I went, taking another ride down with me. Luckily I didn’t hurt myself and I finished of the race hard and fast. As the 14+ men were in the gate they called all 13 boys to the nom hut, and luckily for me because of an official error, we had to re-run the final. I got gate two again, as the gate dropped my back wheel spun out putting me into 5th spot, I caught up to the other riders in the first corner getting into 3rd, and down the last straight I managed to get second. I was very happy with my racing for today.
Round 7 S.A State Series Blue Lake BMX Club (Mount Gambier) Date: 20/3/12 Location: Blue Lake BMX Club Last weekend was the 7th round of the SA State Series at Blue Lake BMX Club. We went down there on the Friday because there was a SA Talent ID training session there with Luke Madill. This was very helpful due to the track being the venue for this year’s Nationals. On Sunday it was the State Series racing, in my motos I got a second and 2 thirds which gave me third gate pick for the final. I chose gate 2 and got a good snap. It was really tight down the first straight and into the first berm. I managed to squeeze my way into third spot and then tried to get past the others on the last straight but couldn’t quite make it. It was very worthwhile going down to Mount Gambier, I achieved some personal goals and it was good racing. There were even some Victorians that had come over to race. This is a great hit up for the Nationals in Mount Gambier at the end of the Month.
