Buster's WA Title BashBy Redline Australia on March 30, 2012
Hi All W A State Championships at the Bunbury BMX track on the weekend of the 10th and 11th March. Weather forecast said it would be hot – up in high 30’s. I travelled down with friends for the pre states on Friday which I won. Saturday was the cruiser class and I had firsts all day so pleased to get WA1. Sunday was the big day with the 20” classes and it was hot – really hot. My legs were hurting from 2 days riding but won 3 of the 4 heats, settled for a second in the semi and then gave it everything for the final which I got the 1st in so a good weekend – WA1 in both classes – 14 boys 20” and 13-14 boys cruiser.
Other highlights of the year so far – obviously being named in the Redline Australia team, getting onto the WA State Development Squad and riding in my first champbix for rounds 3 and 4 (also at Bunbury). Having turned 13 at the end of last year this is the first year I can compete in Champbix. The weather wasn’t great as it was really windy but I was happy with my ride, making the final on day one. In the final I crashed out in the first berm - but that’s racing! Unfortunately the second day’s racing was cancelled and the results went on the time trial. Looking forward to the Aussies Thanks everyone BUSTER
