Dan Norton becomes World Cyclo-Cross Champion
By the Cyclocross team on January 16, 2012
Team Redline rider Dan Norton of Seattle, WA realized a lifelong dream today becoming the Masters World Champion in Cyclo-cross, a sport he loves so much. With the event being held at Eva Bandman Park in Louisville, KY. Dan got the hole shot and never looked back making sure to control the outcome of his race. Despite losing 10 seconds to a first lap crash, Dan was quickly back in the action and back into the lead. Dan battled with 2011 Masters National champion Fred Wittwer and finally put him away on the final lap.
With Challenge Limus tires down to 25lbs, Dan rode very smooth on the muddy track in Louisville. Redline race mechanic Dan Delph was there to wash Norton’s bikes and make sure everything was tip-top for the “man.”
Norton says, “this was a very technical course and liked the run-ups, a real” tough-man’s course.”
“ the frozen ruts started to melt making it a finesse course, where you could not over amp it at all or you would find yourself on the ground.”
Dan rides the Redline Conquest Carbon Team bicycle outfitted with the best parts from our awesome co-Sponsors: Kool Stop, FSA, Pyrme, XLC and Challenge.
