HILLIAM RIDER TEAM REPORT, now the dust has settled

FRIDAY CRUISER RACING

Liam Hilliam 15-16 Boys Cruiser class

We had been to Bundy for the Cane Toad Classic a few months before Liam had a good idea of track layout. Friday was cruiser race day and the track was fast and smooth. Motos went well and a good final result against some fast older riders was looking good. He got away to a not bad start and was 4th into the first berm but misjudged the slightly loose surface down low and down low Liam went sliding out. Unhurt he picked up his 2011 Flight Pro Cruiser and finished the lap. An 8th place was not too bad as making a final is always a good thing.

SUNDAY CHAMPIONSHIPS AGE CLASS RACING

Liam Hilliam 15 Year Boys

Motos were fast and furious and good results gave him a reasonable semi. Not getting a good gate he was chasing all the way crossing in 4th but securing a final berth and plate. Coming from outside in line 8 it was a tough first straight but into the 1st berm in 4th was awesome until his front wheel was chopped out and down he went. Damn another 8th place after such good motos. He had just stepped up from a Flight Pro bike to his Mums new 2012 Flight Pro XL as his new Project 79 was still on its way and loved it.  Well Liam said `I know I am as fast as they are so watch out next time’ Mt Gambier here he comes.

Adam Hilliam Junior Elite Men

Racing in the Junior Elite Men class was an experience Adam was looking forward too. Good gates and track speed saw him make the final for the day and the others in the final were not going to give an inch. Getting hung up high in the first berm in the soft surface slowed his momentum causing him to get pushed back to 7th but the race was not over and he got stuck back in to cross the line in 6th in a class that had not very much between 1st and 8th. With the new 2012 Redline Project 79 Carbon arriving soon I am sure he will wear out many tyres coming up to speed for the Nationals in Mt Gambier in 2012.

All the riders would like to thank REDLINE for their awesome Flight Series race bikes that never give up trying just like them.  With everyone entering a total of 3 classes and bringing home 3 Queensland finalist plates and all in one piece all was good.
