Redditch UK National Rounds 7 & 8
By UK Redline Brigade on July 19, 2011
Rounds 7 & 8 of the UK National series was held at Redditch bmx club and was the first national held at Redditch in decades. The bmx track is also near the site where the first official bmx track was built and also hosted the international race called the Anglo-American way back in the 80’s.
Anyway enough of that it’s time for race results
One thing I was glad of was that the Redline team tents were water proof as we certainly needed them to be as the weather was more like a winters day, cold and wet. Still no time for moaning we had to get on with it. Redline rider Travis Wilson was having a great time with the track and getting a 3rd place in the A-final was a great result. Alan Hill wasn’t letting the rain stop him and shot to 1st place in both Masters and 35-39 cruiser. Valerie Zebrokova also took the win in 13-14yr female and scoring more points for the team on day 1.
Other results of the day
Sunday again was started off gloomy and wet but the track was still fast despite all the rain. 7-8yr old rider Emily Hutt continued to lead this class and blitz the competition to 1st place. Andy Clucas having crashed at the last national and injuring his foot still had a go over the weekend and his injured foot was taking a toll on his riding but still managed to get in the A final and come 6th. Championship women rider Ayesha McLelland was having a great weekend and lead the final from start to finish to claim 1st place point and was the best race of the day.
Other results of day 2
