Brazil hosts the UCi BMX Worlds, and Jason Carne$ earned his rainbow-striped sleeves by doubling – winning both 30 & Over and Cruiser. In fact, in the Cruiser main, it was a full Redline sweep with UK’s Alan Hill and USA’s Bob O’Gorman rounding out the podium. Redline~France’s Damien Godet also took a bronze in Elite Cruiser, while our defending World Champ from ’05 crashed out in the semis.

Although not concentrating on ABA points this year, Kim Hayashi also did what she has never been able to do … win Girl-Pro at an ABA Grands. Unfortunately, she came 23 points shy of the No.1 plate.

November, 2006

With a champagne bottle in hand, Jason Carne$ celebrated half a decade of domination in Vet Pro; earning his fifth consec No.1 plate after a hard fought battle with Todd Parry. And new mid-year recruit Denzel Stein did everything he needed to do in order to earn the No.1 Amateur title, but rider-points were not in his favor – and he wound up National No.2 for the year.
