After sponsoring the ABA Gold Cup for six years straight, the name is officially changed to Redline Cup. Only old school BMXers still refer to it as the Gold Cup.

 A kooky Australian named Kamakazi arrives for the summer, and wins in AA-pro within his first month in the States.

 Redline's cross bikes come with improved mud clearance and "S-bend" rear stays.

 Another Redline legend. Another Hall of Fame Induction. This time, it's the fastest pro to come outta Oklahoma; Jeff Ruminer. Also, Kamakazi is awarded the BMXer Golden Crank award for Rookie Pro of the Year. Not bad, for only being in the states a few months! Hayashi repeats her No.1 title. Immediately following the Grands main events, Hayashi and Bubba sign Pro applications.
